JPL Mission Control Room Photograph by Winter Ives. ©️2026, All rights reserved. Flintridge / Pasadena, CA A photograph of the interior of Jet Propulsion Labs’ Mission Control Center / Ground Control with brightly lit up screens in front of, and surrounding the control desks, sensors, and tracking computers. Taken whilst on a tour of the site some years ago, courtesy of my cousin, a JPL Space Ambassador. The Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) is a federally funded research and development center managed by the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) for NASA, located on the border of La Cañada Flintridge and Pasadena, California. It was originally established from rocket motor tests done in the Arroyo Seco in 1936 by Caltech researchers.
