JSRF to me is close to a perfect game, not that it doesn't have massive flaws, but it has so so so much love and heart poured into it and the way it feels to play and move is unparalleled flow state, only beaten by like tetris and lumines ii

I had money left over so I also got FF Tactics Advance and some used Gamecube games, I think.

WAY more sauce. I'm with you on this! My biggest turn-off from JSRF is getting rid of the directional graffiti inputs. Spamming the button was never as fun as doing the inputs while the cops close in, adding to the tension.
Also nothing beats using the Dreamcast web browser to download graffiti.

I'm not going to say it's impossible to animate using 3d "cel-shaded" models (like JSRF on OG Xbox, but that's a game not animation), but it's a completely different process & logic than animating, even if it manages to fool people who only glance at it.
It "won't work" & that's the genuine metric.
