my atproto auth proxy is so simple
1. put in an iframe
2. iframe bounces to pds oauth in new tab
3. on accept, pds redirects to a proxy page
4. proxy puts did+jwt in localstorage, close tab
5. iframe listens for storage, gets did+jwt
6. iframe postMessages did+jwt to page

There absolutely is discussion about it! Military Ethics scholars like me have been screaming (and writing) about this and the other blatant violations of international law (IHL & LOAC) and the norms of the Just War Tradition (JWT), as have many others, including engaged veterans.
