The battle for Jamaica's beaches For many international travelers, Jamaica is synonymous with white sand beaches and swaying palm trees. While the island attracted a record 4.3 million tourists in 2024, many coming to splash in its gin-clear waters, it's becoming increasingly difficult for Jamaicans themselves to access those same beaches.
