Jackscepticeye recently posted about how his Resident Evil vids keep getting age restricted inconsistently, for equally inconsistent reasons. Plenty of comments in the vid pointing out YT also plays gambling and softcore ads on other videos, even ones aimed at kids.

the targeting of any art that is "obscene" (terms of obscenity always to be decided at a whim) is fascistic yes but also how the only kinds of art that tends to be penalized is the individual/independent creators isn't lost on me. a patreon TOS would reject anything that can be streamed on netflix.

Bigger irl content creators use the platforms a lot for this type of stuff. Like Jackscepticeye and Dan and Phil raising money for Palestine. So I don’t understand why it’s always “protect ur brand” with vtubers. Like frankly that’s fucking stupid and says A LOT about this community
I'm in agreement with Nafila, and counterpoint to the idea that staying away from politics is "protecting your brand," no it isn't because your brand can include caring about the plight of transpeople, BIPOC, Palestinians, Congolese, Uyhgurs, and every other marginalized group by society.
