Jade Thirlwall, former Little Mix member turned solo artist, has spoken to NME about her upcoming album, which she describes as 'brave and bold' and a 'pop punch to the face.' The singer, whose debut album 'That's Showbiz Baby!' was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize, shared her excitement about the recognition and her upcoming performances. Thirlwall expressed her desire to headline major festivals like Reading & Leeds and Glastonbury, recalling her successful performance at Reading Festival where she 'threw one hell of a party' and pulled one of the biggest crowds of the weekend. She mentioned that she's been working on her new album with producer Mike Sabbath during the summer, with plans to head to Los Angeles soon to solidify the album's sound. Thirlwall emphasized the importance of authenticity in music, stating that a great album requires 'being bold and ballsy, just doing what you want to do and not necessarily pandering to what you think the masses want to hear.' She also shared that she's looking forward to returning to Glastonbury, calling her 2025 performance 'one of the best shows of my life.' The singer has several European shows scheduled for 2027, with more details available on her official website. Thirlwall's focus on honest songwriting and her ambition to headline major festivals highlight her growing confidence as a solo artist.
