Jakeheid, a Geordie classic. Aroma is a dank combo of ripe tropicalism and joosey citrus. Taste sees a bitter-sweet fruitiness emerging from a firm malty base. I think we take this beer for granted up here in the North East, but it’s always a reliable option.

Next stop in sunny (yes) Sunderland is the fancypants Keel Tavern. Cavernously tavernous. Shiny and modern, clearly had money thrown at it. Inevitably it's very soulless, and the beer selection isn't as great as they think it is. Still, they've got Wylam Jakehead on, so not all bad
