Today in music: Reckless (Don't Be So) by Australian Crawl from the 1986 album The Final Wave. Released 40 years ago, it was the band’s second live album and last release

A real obscurity from Aussie rocker #JamesReyne. The song WALKING IN THE DREAMTIME was originally released as a B-side on vinyl for his 1989 single HOUSE OF CARDS, and resurfaced a few years later as a "feature song" on his album THE WHIFF OF BEDLAM.

Kind of a funky rocker.

#AustralianCrawl frontman #JamesReyne, after recording a few solo albums after leaving the band in the mid 80s, in '92 former an unwieldy "supergroup" with fellow Aussie rocker #DarylBraithwaite called COMPANY OF STRANGERS.

A lively energetic song from this union is this one.

I'm a big fan of Aussie and Kiwi '80s music, so I compiled this list of tunes for American Songwriter that I thought could have hit bigger here.

8 '80s Songs From Down Under That Could Have Been Popular Here Had We Heard More of Them
There was a lot of wonderful music released Down Under in the ‘80s, and it’s hard to say why some of it didn’t break through. Many of the songs that were hits, both major and minor, could have actuall...

This song is quite unlike any other song of #JamesReyne, at least all the ones I have ever heard.

It is the B-side to his 1991 song SLAVE. Unlike that dense and lush classic rock song OUTBACK WOMAN is a cruisey, acoustic Delta blues like ditty, pisstakey and it grooves man. 😄

What I regard as the best song #JamesReyne ever recorded, both as a solo artist and with his band AUSTRALIAN CRAWL.

Released in 1991, SLAVE wasn't only one of Reyne's best & "clearest" vocals, but it benefited from lush production from Bryan Adams' "ex" producer JIM VALLANCE.

James Reyne turned back the decades, playing an entire, mostly loud-rock set of Aussie Crawl songs to the happy, singalong crowd. Highlights included ‘Hoochie Gucci Fiorucci Mama’, ‘White Limbo’ and a stripped-back reggae version of ‘The Boys Light Up’ (with Josh Owen). #JamesReyne #AustralianCrawl
