Fabulous to hear such care and compassion from #JamesTimpson
(Not that you'd expect any less from him!)
He definitely is the right man for the job, but it’s a huge task.

I thought #JamesTimpson ‘s appointment as prison minister was genius.
Wasc eally expecting him to have been a lot more high profile than he has been. (Rarely seen or heard of.)
Super disappointing.
(And yes, I know they inherited a complete disaster from the #Tories ) #c4news

I was so pleased when #JamesTimpson was appointed prisons minister, as he has so much experience working with offenders.
Sadly he seems to have kept a very low profile ever since.....

When #JamesTimpson was announced prisons minister, I was so pleased, as it seemed a genius appointment.
Sadly, he has been more or less invisible since then.

Delighted to be at @zahidmubarektrust.bsky.social's 'Race in Prisons' conference today, and hear Prisons Minister JamesTimpson acknowledge the stark race inequality in the youth justice system, and the need for ambitious action to address it.

#JamesTimpson , for whom I have a huge amount of time, looked under an awful lot of pressure in his interview #c4news earlier.

This was a genius appointment, and I had high hopes of #JamesTimpson
Unfortunately not sure how much he has achieved.
Very good interview with him on, I think, #bbcbh yesterday.
Incredibly 1 in 9 of the #Timpsons workforce is, or has been, in the prison system.

The businessman said it was an "honour" to serve in the post, but the BBC understands he feels he has achieved all he can in the role.

It absolutely is. Too much of the "lock 'em up and throw away the key".
I really thought #JamesTimpson was a genius appointment, but sadly he didn't live up to my expectations of a wholesale change of the system.
