Why'd my first post for the Jashin-chan manga thread get so many likes? Almost none of the likes are from my oomfs and it doesn't seem to be from Jashin-chan fans either, so I have to assume the post just ended up in a discovery feed and people liked it because of the cover art I used for the post.

Starting with chapter 39 the translation switches from Jyashin-chan to Jashin-chan so all is right in the world now (the scanlation in general feel higher quality as well now, I wonder if a different group started working on this series at this point)

It's not like I ever questioned where Yurine is all day while Jashin-chan is alone when watching the anime because I didn't think it was a detail that mattered. But the manga mentions Yurine's classes so often that it's weird the anime doesn't.

One thing the anime completely cuts is all references to Yurine going to college. In the manga whenever Jashin-chan is alone at home it's because Yurine has class, but the anime doesn't mention anything about where Yurine is when she's outside.

Jashin-chan buying a deer from Amazon is one of the things the anime cut out completely for some reason but it also referenced Azusa the Second a lot despite never appearing in the anime, so finally seeing this deer's origin feels special.

I am also mildly bothered the manga's translation says fuck but if only Jashin-chan and no one else says fuck then maybe it's appropriate.

I have finally learned how the Jashin/Vile Echidna can be a Chaos-aligned boss in the original SMT. It's the internal alignment data, which the new MegaTen Wiki shows in their gameplay stat tables for the demons.

Anyway Jashin-chan was a really fun series and I'm pretty sad that there's no more anime for me to watch after this. But I'm definitely going to start reading the manga sometime in the near future because I really want to see more of these silly demons and angels.

Watched Apocalypse Day, and with that I am now done with all of Jashin-chan. This special is likely the last Jashin-chan anime we'll ever get so it's nice it actually gave a spotlight to every single character in the show. It's another sponsored tourism ad but not as blatant about it as the S3 ones.

Great final episode though. It started like it had actual plot with all the Ecute stuff before turning into Jashin-chan's usual comedy routine and then ending it all in a way that would be really unsatisfying for most shows but feels very fitting for Jashin-chan's insanity.

I really gotta wonder what's the point of introducing Ecute in the 3rd season since she gets to do barely anything before the season ends, and I highly doubt Jashin-chan is going to get a 4th season so everything with Ecute is completely unresolved.

Jashin-chan doing an episode that was basically just a sponsored tourism ad was good for one episode (especially since it was a special) and felt on brand for this show, but season 3 having several tourism episodes feels a bit too much like the show is just selling out.
