Lots of Heathrow bound flights from the US are returning. Any aircraft you see pointing east here has already turned around.

EWR has been closed to arrivals and departures for over an hour due to the World Cup final, mostly so they could do a poorly timed military flyover that was barely visible on the broadcast for about 3 seconds.

Meanwhile, I’m on my way to EWR and apparently the ATC tower is closed due to a fire alarm. All movement in/out of the airport has been paused for a while already and diversions beginning.

Nick from JetTip, along with Kid 1 and Kid 2, were at EAA AirVenture on Sunday and Monday; highlights included arrivals of the U-2, 747SP, VC-121A, and a surprise MiG 29! There was also the DC-8, PB4Y-2, B-29s, B-1, and thousands of other beautiful aircraft! #osh25

Smart flight alerts from JetTip drew a big crowd to MSP this afternoon to document this Lufthansa A340, which will be covering the route for the next couple of weeks while the usual 787 fleet is constrained by planned maintenance.

Just wanted to share this amazing project undertaken by the folks at @jettip.net, catching photos of every Boeing airframe from 707-787, in flight, in one day. Such a cool concept, and they pulled it off. If you’re not familiar with Jettip, I highly recommend the service for any aviation fans.
It’s happening! We’re in OKC this morning to attempt an IRL avgeek challenge: catch each type of Boeing airliner, 707 through 787, in motion, in 24 hours. A #BoeingYahtzee.

Avgeeks in Minneapolis woke up to smart flight alerts from JetTip for this Eastern 777-200ER, which appears to be in town for a military charter.

Every once in a while, a Kalita and AtlasAir 747 land there, usually from Anchorage, but sometimes it doesn't show up on JetTip. I did manage to catch it one time.
