An animal lover returning home gets drawn into a zoo's dangerous secret, a mystery involving monstrous, human-faced creatures.

Fog crawls up from the ocean and hushes the streetlights—white halos fade into hesitation. I stand on Jinmen’s sea embankment, letting the tide arrive at its own unhurried pace. Sand scrapes my ankles like someone tapping knuckles on metal. The wind slides in from the other side, salty and cold, and every breath leaves a thin sting of seawater right on my throat. I’ve been here in daylight. Then the rocks looked sharp, like blades. At night, shadows learn to detour: moonlight refuses to land cleanly, and cloud cuts it into segments. The sea turns unnaturally quiet, broken only by a distant engine hum—like a sleeping animal breathing in dreams. My “one selling point” is direction: this isn’t about finding the prettiest angle. The current and the terrain force you to admit you’re being guided. Locals swear the best hour is 9:30–10:00pm. I follow the advice, and when the water pulls back, the rock-whispers grow denser—tapping straight into the part of you that listens. Afterward, I warm up with thick hot soy milk or wonton soup. Night isn’t an ending—it’s daily courage, re-touched. #Jinmen #TaiwanTravel #NightWalk #SeaSounds #Fog #TravelTips
