Let's not forget Joe Slovo's activism regarding fighting apartheid. He was born in 1926, in Obeliai, in Lithuania.
Born Yossel Mashel Slovo, he belonged to a Jewish family in Eastern Europe.

Today marks the 30th anniversary of Comrade Joe #Slovo's death on 6 January 1995. A dedicated Marxist-Leninist and anti-apartheid activist, he was a long-time leader and theorist in the South African Communist Party, a key member of the and commander-in-chief of Umkhonto we Sizwe (MK).
