I feel like my favourite uncle has passed away. He and Shorthouse were the dynamic duo that made you laugh hard and their silliness and still love the team no matter how crap they were. There will never be another like you John Garrett.

On April 9, 1980, #JohnGarrett was in goal for the Hartford Whalers during an 8-4 playoff game loss to the Montreal Canadiens. He played the puck to Mark Howe, who then passed it to his dad. #GordieHowe, aged 52, proceeded to score the 801st and final goal of his career.
