Der Weltklima-Rat @ipcc müsste eine Sonder-Tagung einberufen, um ihre Modelle sowie die öffentlichen und staatlichen Warnungen nebst politischer Empfehlungen auf den neuen Stand zu bringen. The winter Southern hemisphere polar jet stream is weakening with global atmospheric warming and this allows it to meander more, bringing strengthening mid latitude heat anomalies further south. Storm systems can push humid relatively warm air into the Antarctic Peninsula and coastal areas and increasingly even deep into the continent. These intrusions accompanied by high winds and large waves can rapidly break up large areas of thinning sea ice. Decreasing sea ice cover lowers albedo (sunlight reflectivity) and further intensifies heat anomalies. Latent heat release to the atmosphere is generally increasing year to year from generally increasing tropical cyclone activity year to year in this and many other areas of the world due to global warming. I'd never heard of it either. John Scheve is a wealth of information. I've found him to be far ahead of the usual "mainstream" sources and very accurate most of the time.
