These cheeky random scale figures for paleontological skeletal diagrams are getting out of control, is that fuckin August Von Mackensen?!

Between the robot plesiosaur, brilliant bird talks, Prehistoric Planet, and an appearance from Nigel Marven, TetZooCon was once again a lot of fun this year! albertonykus.blogspot.com/2023/12/tetz...

Among the bones found are, the pelvis, hindlimbs, and vertebrae. Unfortunately the skull and forelimbs were not found.

It was likely feathered and roughly 3 to 5 meters (12 to 16 feet) or, 391 to 522 peas, long.

Special thank you to @becadreads.bsky.social for the weird units converter 😊

Dino time nerds.

Juratyrant, it was a smaller tyrannosauroid from the Late Jurassic that lived in what is now England.

It was discovered in 1984 but wasn’t formally described until 2008.

It’s was originally thought to be Stokesosaurus and is known from only a single specimen.

At about 149my old, #Juratyrant had a self explanatory name: "The Jurassic Tyrant". It is one of the earliest known Tyrannosauroids and was discovered in Dorset, England within the marine Kimmeridge Clays.

@skeletaldrawing.bsky.social mind if I ask what material your 2013 stokesosaur diagram is based on? It is labeled as S.clevelandi, yet comes across as an animal closer in size to Juratyrant than to the clevelandi type, and to the naked eye the ischia appear consistent with BYUVP 4862's measurements.
