I would love to talk with librarians & others worried about the future of their repositories. Is there a potential role for Knowledge Commons/KCWorks in mirroring institutional repositories such that they're protected against uncertain futures?
It's a grim question and one that, obviously, pales into insignificance beside the human cost if this happens, but: what happens to a university's institutional repository when the institution fails/goes bankrupt/closes? Has any university taken digital preservation precautions?

I uploaded my first article onto Humanities Commons via KCWorks. The interface is fab, requires more info than Academia site, so do not expect all to land there any time soon, but it is a commons site so I recommend it instead of any other platform.
