🧵 1/3 · 📢 The Houthis are attempting to seize the Kahboub mountains in the provinces of Taiz and Lahij to isolate the Red Sea coast from southern areas controlled by Saudi-backed forces, according to five Yemeni military sources cited by Reuters.
The Houthis currently control most of Yemen’s western Red Sea coastline, including the strategic port of Hodeidah. Anti-Houthi forces still maintain positions in parts of the southern coast around Mocha and the approaches to Bab al-Mandab.
