Kīlauea continues to erupt from the N vent. Earlier today, the lava fountain reached nearly 1,000 feet but has since dropped back to around 400 feet. Still impressive!
The N vent is feeding voluminous flows that are streaming into Kaluapele.

Precursory activity and the onset of episode 40-These episodes began on December 23,2024 at Kaluapele-Kilauea Caldera. This looks to be a bit different from the previous fountaining episodes, large volumes of lava. It looks like a fast moving River. Quite beautiful #viral #travel #bluesky #nature
