I am thinking of my uncle, Reyes Fortuna Cruz, family friend, Kandi Jimenez, and the many hundreds of beautiful souls we lost in Dallas, esp in the 1980s and 90s. Many poinsettias at Turtle Creek: shorturl.at/PQb8u

A color photo of Reyes Cruz. He is wearing a white button up shirt and holding a glass of wine, talking to a woman with short hair wearing a strapless formal dress and pearls. A black & white photo of Reyes Cruz. He smiles at the camera with friendly eyes and a big smile. A color photo of Kandice Jimenez. Kandi is wearing lots of 1980s makeup and has huge curly hair a la 1980s Dallas (the higher the hair, the closer to god). She is looking directly at the camera. The picture is signed "Kandi Delight." A color photo of Kandi Delight's vertical AIDS quilt square. Photos of Kandi can be seen in three icons: a gold star, heart, and Texas outline made with the Texas flag. Her name is at the top in shiny silver letters. The words Houston, Dallas, and Texas are placed after each of the icons in the same shiny lettering.
