I feel bad for jay kang's family. But this is tremendous content.

My objections are entirely aesthetic here, as I will never engage with Jay Caspian Kang's ideas bsky.app/profile/mims...
the actual article is pretty sympathetic to the new socialism!

Opposition whip making preamble speech

He just mentioned Han Kang's Nobel Prize lecture, which was posted this past week

Can the past help the present
Can the dead help the living

(I'm still angry that the only news item from Korea this week should've been Han Kang's Nobel win)

Reminding everyone where D5 candidate Julie Kang's (seen here attending a Bruce Harrell fundraiser) politics align.
Ok the mayor is speaking. “I embrace the wealthy.”

It's not Jay Mr. Tumnus Kang's fault this website is so uncultured

Reading some comic book Kang stories for the podcast, what idiot decided Kang’s direction should be Negging Thanos instead of G1 Starscream

A year later, I still think I wrote the single best take on Han Kang’s Nobel win. I especially loved taking this essay away from the New York Times and the Atlantic and giving it to @wasafirimag.bsky.social

In this horrible month, if you are feeling as low as I am, I'm going to recommend 4 books that feel generous, hopeful, and immersive. 1. Molly Gloss's Hearts of Horses. 2. Jedediah Berry's The Naming Song. 3. Megan Giddings's The Women Could Fly 4. Minsoo Kang's The Melancholy of Untold History.

If you think Dankey Kang's redesign is radical, wait until you see Funky's potruding nipples under his tank.

Let’s all decide we’re not reading anymore of Jay Caspian Kang’s stuff. Readers already distrust education bashing, including in the form of NYer essays. More and more people decide Kang’s essays aren’t worth their time.
WTF, NYer. "If we agree that college primarily serves a credentialling process that stamps select young people as worthy of work..." We do not. So much for the bastion of erudite journalism. This is sensationalism, damaging our most vital institution: education.
