Lies. Te Reo ^ kapahaka are never scheduled during maths & English. In schools I worked in when the kapahaka tutor arrived teachers taught Te Reo & Māori culture. This created incentive to go to kapahaka & behave. No one wanted 2 b banned from kapahaka & be taught the same stuff by a yt teacher.

Ka rawe. Te Rerenga Kotuku Kapahaka Roopu voting together and normalising voting for the rangatahi. They've put a challenge out to 3 other roopu to vote. Looking at you Matangjreia, Te Rerenga Morehu and the Wairarapa roopu.

Kapahaka always counts as PE. Depending on how it is done it also counts for part of the social studies, music, dance curriculum. Kapahaka & Te Reo are not taking away from other curriculum areas because they cover some of the stuff the curriculum requires.

Spent Easter at the Tūhoe Ahurei, had friends stay, got to awhi them after their performances, read my favourite kids books to our tamaiti & talk till 3am w his mama about irawhiti in kapahaka.
Leaving Tāmaki meant leaving my entire support network behind, but this is exactly what I left for ❤️🤍🖤

Miss10 had her last ever whānau night at Aberdeen last week 💕 was so wonderful seeing her participate in Pacifica and Kapahaka - she was just another kid in the crowd. A very ordinary life outcome but one which has taken a huge amount of work ❤️
