Si les nerfs bien accrochés, Katyn ça m'a marqué pour la vie, ça fout tellement la haine mais quel coup de poing dans la gueule et quel courage d'avoir fait un tel film, c'est un des films qui m'a politisé jeune et révolté contre toutes les formes de fascime

I spent a fair chunk of the 90s talking to people in the Central European defence community, and they all wanted to join NATO because they all had horror stories about the Russians (they put it like that, not the Soviet Union) coming and killing lots of their people. Katyn, Holodomor, ‘56, 68 etc.

What the generation had to experience during the war is horrible.
One of my grandfathers was in a POW camp, second enslaved in Germany after barely dodging Katyń Massacre because he hid his rank and a Soviet officer was bribed to release him.
Terrible times.

Communist Russia was objectively fascist though. The secret police killed 20k Polish civilians. Vladimir himself even acknowledged the war crimes directly by calling it the "Horrors of Stalinism"

Lol, even if that is true, why was it necessary to, I repeat, join with fucking Adolf Hitler to invade Poland? Was there some antifascist goal in murdering the Polish officer corps in the Katyn massacre? Was there there a noble motive in invading the Baltics and Estonia?
