A wonderful middle grade book about a young teen with autism dealing with siblings, bullies and life in general. A wonderful main character and one or two (actually, several) awful ones that made me mad! Beautifully written and a must for a school library. ##kidlitUK 💙📚

I wish there had been autistic authors writing like Ellie McNicoll when I was younger. It so wonderful to see young autistic protagonists, and not portrayed as victims, in books. 15/

I just finished Keedie by Elle McNicoll for #UKLA25. What a brilliant, strong character Keedie is! So glad to have read this book. I want to go back and reread A Kind of Spark all over again now!

I like sequels that feel like they are doing something new even though they are returning us to familiar worlds and characters - Patrick Ness's Chaos Walking series does this (where each book feels like a completely different type of story) and so do these...
