A #forensicscientist doesn't always work with human evidence, and this week this saw a lot of lesser-known but important work at #keeleuniversity.

Early in the week this saw our third year students working with Dr Falko Drijfhout feeding Calliphora vicina larvae with two types of drugs of abuse.

The talks itinerary is starting to develop with some interesting presentations being lined up.First, we have Professor Toby Bruce from @KeeleUniversity University who will be giving a talk on 'the sense of smell in insects'.

Its starting to feel festive at #KeeleUniversity!

Not directly associated, but definitely on theme, in #Forensics we have monthly craft lunches where staff and students can relax and learn to crochet/knitting/cross-stitch.

We've found to be a great way to decompress after heavier topics of study.

A perfect day for a stroll amongst the cherry blossoms at Keele. Always a pleasure listening to Peter talk about trees. A few early bluebells as well. The only thing I miss about Keele is the grounds on days like today. #cherryblossom #keeleuni #keeleuniversity #nature

A wander around Keele campus looking at the cherry blossoms. It was quite busy, I think with them featuring on Midlands Today and the nice weather had bought people out! Keele holds the national collection and there's over 250 different varieties.

Last week our Keele Forensic Science Society hosted a murder mystery evening at one of our crime scene houses. Usually used for #teaching and crime scene management simulations, our monitoring system proved a fun and #innovative way to use our #facilities.
