Please note: pretty sure Haslam intended to say he didn’t *necessarily* want to see resignations, but he sure as sugar ain’t opposed to them. #KeepDalStrong

... it took me a long time after the lockout to not want to pump my fists and "woooo hoooo" every time I heard a car horn haha. #KeepDalStrong ... it's been quite the year.

We just officially ratified new the collective agreement at Dalhousie with 95.7% in favour.

The lockout has officially ended, and back to work tomorrow after 5 weeks locked out!!!

Glad to get a good deal and finally get back to work.

Week 3 of being on strike, and the board keeps sabotaging negotiations by trying to bargain in public.

Still, hoping that a conciliator in the room on Monday will finally let us make peogress!

One week of being locked out by Dalhousie with not a single word from the board since. With the teaching term supposed to start next week, its getting a bit stressful.

Good thing we have Luna the therapy dog to keep us company, with a cute DFA branded bandanna!!

Day 2 of being locked out by Dalhousie. Making history as the first U15 university to lock out their employees, but we're staying strong!

TIL that walking past picketers who are doing the “try to get passing cars to honk” thing and yelling “HONK! HONK!” does not immediately get read as support. 😬 (But smiling and waving while you yell it does seem to clarify matters 😆)

As of the time of writing this, I would like to be here, in the inorganic undergrad teaching lab, being a TA for students of intermediate inorganic chemistry at @dalhousie.bsky.social.
Unfortunately, my supervisor was locked out!

Great...looks like I'll be without a supervisor for the foreseeable future.

@dalhousie.bsky.social, are you telling me that you'd rather cancel the fall semester than give the faculty the support they need to handle the ever-increasing workload? #KeepDalStrong
The Dalhousie Board of Governors and the Dalhousie Faculty Association (DFA) met this afternoon to resume discussions.

At 4 p.m., the Conciliator ended the conciliation session.

At this time, the parties have no further conciliation dates scheduled.

1st time I’ve ever seen a rare albino squirrel 🐿️ in Halifax. Fitting, since it’s also the 1st time a U15 university has locked out its faculty instead of negotiating a fair deal. In fact I went for a run to help manage the anxiety of not being in the classroom teaching where I belong! #KeepDalStrong

It’s #caturday. Week 3 of my human’s defensive strike. She says no “fancy” salmon mousse til this is resolved. Unacceptable. I volunteered to attend Monday’s conciliation to tell the Dal Board to stop the nonsense already; enough of their catty tactics. But need treats involved. #keepdalstrong

Dalhousie university threatens faculty with a 48 hr lockout notice during labour negotiations.
Essentially devaluing faculty contributions to the university mandate.

1000 faculty hit the picket lines tomorrow, 930 am, lockout by @dalhousieu.bsky.social. A first for CDN research intensive universities. A reckless move by the Board - jeopardizing the fall term, ruining relations with faculty for years to come. Join us on the picket lines to #keepdalstrong!

Senate must ask leadership to explain this Aug18 claim: "If a labour disruption is inevitable, then it’s in Dalhousie Univ’s best interest to move to that stage now"

Why was disruption "inevitable"?
What "interest" does this refer to?

Show Senate the evidence for this conclusion.

At today’s DFA rally, I was pleasantly surprised to see a silly meme I made blown up on a picket sign. Definitely adding meme famous to my CV. If I’m ever not locked out. Attached again for your consideration. I think it’s just as appropriate now.
