A close-up, high-angle photograph looking down at a small, mature black dog with a greying muzzle and intense, soulful brown eyes. The dog is standing on a parquet wooden floor and looking directly up with a hopeful expression of anticipation.

Spotted a right dose of celtic madness in Banna today. A freezing wind, the Atlantic looking wild, and one single, brave soul giving it welly. Fair play, but you’d want a serious dose of crazy to brave the sea this afternoon.

A wide-angle landscape photograph looking out at Banna Strand, County Kerry, on an overcast March day. The frame is dominated by multiple, stacked lines of heavy, white-capped waves rolling towards the shore. Amidst the rough water, near the center, a small, solitary figure—a lone swimmer in dark swimwear—is visible, navigating the swell. The foreground shows wet, dark sand. In the distance, a large, rolling green headland (the Mount Brandon range) stretches across the horizon under a moody, cool sky. The sense of scale emphasizes the isolation of the swimmer against the powerful sea.
