There is a clear parallel between medical doctors being replaced by physician associates and qualified care coordinators being replaced by unqualified or not necessarily qualified keyworkers. Yet, where is the protest at the risk and de-killing of the workforce and its effects?

We seem to have forgotten a lot of things from the pandemic, e.g. that "Key workers" are important - cleaners, delivery people, shop workers, all the NHS, school staff etc. Pay the keyworkers sufficiently & nurture them.

Schools did *not* close - this is tabloid stuff. Keyworkers have clearly been forgotten in the five short years since.
A member of staff at my children’s school was hospitalised. Arguing about whether he contracted Covid while teaching or out of hours is academic - the virus was blatantly endemic.

Even the HR depts I used to work with were barely able to function when lockdown happened.
They had to be deemed keyworkers because even recruitment was too sensitive to be done at home, let alone on phones.

We need to be doing more to help people get on the housing market- including keyworkers such as police officers, NHS staff and teachers.
This means continuing with planning reform, fixing blockages around building safety and construction and building more council & social housing.

Why is ‘other’ workers' work constantly devalued? I see the value in what he is proposing, but restricting this to ‘key’ workers devalues non-keyworkers' work. Further, it makes this feeling like political posturing.
