Kilohearts has a pretty in-depth documentation section on their website, but it could use a copy editor pass for typos and some of their Essentials parameter breakdowns could use an update to reflect the latest functionality. the easy-to-follow video tutorials are a big advantage though.

if you want free plugins instead get OTT, Vital, Spectral Suite, kilohearts free collection, whatever comes prebundled with your DAW is pretty good too

entirely 3rd party! i use vital as my main synth and sampler, kilohearts essentials, and various others! i usually only use stock for pitch-shifting/occasionally reverb

That's so cool! Kilohearts offers a variety of good plugins
I make music on GarageBand for iPad
For EQ, I use Pro-Q 3 (this one is also for stereo widening), and for other fx I only use stock ones

Awesome to discover A. G. Cook using a lot of "Face Plant" and other Kilohearts plugins on some huge tracks!
Note the use of Shaper Table there, which happens to be half-price at the moment so... if you wanna be just like AG... ya know...

this might be kind of obvious to you already, but kilohearts compactor is a really nice, versatile & clean mixing limiter if you just use it without a sidechain in

it does strike me as interesting that even kilohearts themselves seem to focus on the sidechain aspects of the plugin when that doesn't even seem to be it's main use?

Thank you! It's a combination of the NES VST, Kawai K1v and Super Audio Boy, using the KiloHearts bitcrusher set to 666 kHz.

i don't believe we do yet! we've been using vsts that either came with our midi controller, we got for free, or we got for very very cheap on sale! so that amounts to things like massive x, hype synth, vital, Sam Pura/Purafied Audio's bundle of plugins, kilohearts essentials, glitchmachines' plugins

Uhhhhh depends on what you're needing but there are a few free sound library resources out there.
If you're wanting to make your own (synthesised stuff) then Kilohearts' freebies with Vital will go a long way.

I wish Kilohearts' pitch shifter also had formant shift but it doesn't unfortunately- they have a formant *filter* but that's a very different thing from a formant *shifter*
