- Bookshop.org now offers ebooks (DRM sitch is odd tho)
- MoonReader+ is probably the best Kindle alternative, it can sync to cloud drives to sync reading position, books, etc
- Stripping DRM from your Kindle books? This wasn't the only way KindleForPC works too (old ver)

The download loophole they're closing was only particularly useful if you specifically had an older e-ink Kindle. Amazon Fires have weird DRM shit.
The KindleForPC route, meanwhile, still works fine, you just need a specific older version, Calibre, and a specific plugin. Line those up? it's ezpz.

This is interesting. I have a few dozen kindle books, but I don't have a kindle. I always just used either the web viewer , the android app. It looks like it might work with the KindleForPC app, which is a Windows app. I'll see if I can make it run under wine.
