Tom King saying “Lanterns are cops, John Stewart is a superhero.” Cracked me up
October 9, 2026 at 4:41 AM
2/3 St Edward the Confessor holds the ring on the c1500 south aisle screen at Barton Turf, Norfolk. The pilgrims brought a message from St John telling the king that he would die in six months, and join St John in heaven. Edward died on 10 January 1066, a momentous year.

11 October 1216. King John lost his crown and jewels while his army was crossing the mudscapes of the tidal estuary called the Wash in East Anglia. More than 800 years later King John’s hoard has not been found.

I think Tom King dialogue benefits a lot from world class actors delivering it. I love that it doesn’t shy away from the oddities of Hal Jordan’s personality, and it genuinely presents the most interestingly synthesized version of John Stewart’s personality we have seen to date.
This is awful, and you're right to close it. Shit behavior by those people.

My DC question: how do you feel about the new Lanterns show?

The 350m stretch of King between Simcoe and John is a rare portion of the streetcar network without private vehicles, curbside parking, signalised intersections, special track work, car stops, or other operating restrictions. This allows cars to frequently reach the maximum road speed of 50 km/h.

Finished Jennifer's Body.

Now onto 1408, my *SECOND* favorite King adaptation starring John Cusack and Sam Jackson.
I'm working on a big spreadsheet project so I think I have to put Jennifer's Body on in the background.

Those ARE the rules.

People like suddenly realizing John Stewart was changed from his comic origins to be a military figure is kinda frying me. This is not a change that happened with Lanterns because Tom King wrote it, I get all issues with Tom King and his history. However

This day in history. 1216. King John lost the crown jewels when his baggage train was swamped by a rising tide in The Wash. "We wants them, we needs them. Must have the preciouses," he was heard moaning afterwords. He developed a fever and died a few days later but some say he jumped into a volcano.
