Today's #BirdOfTheDay theme is #SpikyHead. I think kingfishers fit the theme well. These beauties are so skittish and fly away so quickly that I've had a hard time getting anything. Finally got a little lucky. #photography #wildlife #ECK #birds #BirdsInFlight #birdsky #birders #conservation

Four frames of the Kelvin Kingfishers in Glasgow. This posturing went on for nearly an hour before they started the fight shown in the video I posted on Sunday. It went on so long we had time to walk up to the bridge above and get a top-down view too. #bird

After nearly an hour of tense stand-off, two Kingfishers fight over territory on the River Kelvin in Glasgow this afternoon. This an adult male and a juvenile. This kind of aggression has been seen here several times in recent weeks. #birds

It was the perfect morning, the Ravens came early, lots of Winter Thrushes, Kingfishers, beautiful scenery & the icing on the cake my first patch Fly Agaric. I have been seeing all the beautiful photos of them & wishing I could see one. It was deep in private woodland, so lucky to have spotted it!
