Went round to Kircubbin to help a mate take his boat out of the water for winter, but it was too lumpy, so gave him a hand sailing back down to Portaferry in the evening.

This is a good example of the confusion by design that Irish whiskey brands engage in - it wasn't distilled in County Down, it wasn't distilled in Echlinville Distillery or 'produced' ie made by them, it's sourced, either from Bushmills or Cooley www.newsletter.co.uk/lifestyle/fo...

Got a chance to visit Horse Island (Kircubbin) and yes @DragonInHills, there is potential lizard habitat although none seen on this visit (27 April). Some great views though and lots of wildflowers (Flag Iris emerging - Scurvy Grass and Spring Squill in full flower)

Here's some pics from a recent staycation my mom & I took to Ballywalter (and surrounding areas up by the beach in Co. Down) one of the best holidays i've ever taken. I feel rejuvenated. If you are ever visiting - here's a few fun locations to check out 🍝🍰🐠🦀🪼

A small turtle swimming in a tank at Exploris Aquarium in Portaferry, there is vegetation around him & a large surface of rock directly to his left. A large dutch pancake topped with banana slices, blueberries and crispy bacon, with a container of syrup directly in its centre. The dish is coated in powdered sugar & is about the size of a regular pizza. (served in 'Dutchie' in Greyabbey) Coffee cake and dragon fruit cooler from 'Coan' coffee shop in Kircubbin, situated next to the sea, this little place has wonderful beach vibes & great food!
