The Long Price Quartet
The Dagger & the Coin
The Aspects of Kithamar

Now all completed.

Lo, I am spent.

Please read the Trilogy of Kithamar! It's genuinely so good and the idea of building a trilogy on simultaneous stories rather than a sequel as continuation works wonders
Finished Blade of Dream. Didn't expect it to love it as much as Age of Ash but I did. Still in awe at how Daniel Abraham managed to repeat this feat twice (and I hope thrice once the last book comes out).

Feeling emptiness from leaving beloved characters once more. But that's part of why it's great

Fair point.

So as I move toward the publication of the last book of the Aspects of Kithamar, I'll just mention that I have two other completed epic fantasy series -- The Long Price Quartet and The Dagger & the Coin -- that I'm quite pleased with and both available for TBR piles.

I KNOW preorders are super important for books, but they're also not how consumers find products, so like... just remember the long tail.

People want to go into a place, pick up a thing, and enjoy it. Build more infrastructure around the period of time when readers can actually be consumers.

One thing I like about @abraham.bsky.social 's Kithamar books is that the inhabitants of Kithamar do view other places this way...but visitors TO Kithamar see it as the place that has unusual cool stuff from *their* perspective.

Nope. Aspects of Kithamar.

The Kithamar books from Daniel Abraham do this pretty well in a fantasy setting I think.

we are (I am) now in the wonderfully agonizing waiting period for both Captive's War #3 and Kithamar #3 (Daniel Abraham's under-appreciated, fantastic fantasy series which you should ALSO be reading)
"Corey builds to every revelation with masterful restraint, and yet this is the kind of book you want to clear your calendar for."

Book two in James SA Corey's Captive War series is here, and @mollytempleton.com thinks you'll like it:
The Long Game Continues: James S.A. Corey’s The Faith of Beasts - Reactor
Two books in, The Captive’s War series is quietly radical and intensely hopeful.

daniel abraham's BLADE OF DREAM (book 2 of the KITHAMAR trilogy). it's SO good.

What Abraham is writing with his Kithamar series is an incredible feat of storytelling. Each book is its own separate story but together they build a narrative that is more than the sum of its parts. I am absolutely dying for the third (and presumably) final book.

Excited to delve into the mysteries of Kithamar again with Daniel Abraham's second book in the series.

Having read both - Dagger & Coin as well as Long Price - I am constantly intrigued by how intricately wrought and realistic his worldbuilding is.

Hoping to be floored again !!

I love the way the Kithamar books are layered over each other, waiting to pre-order #3.
In Kithamar a lot of shit & dead bodies are tossed into the river, which is wasteful, pretty bad for public health, & not usual early modern/medieval practice. Is this a plot point?

A fair question. I got stuck on it for a while and had to work some things through, but I figured it out. I spent all of October at Ty's place outlining the third Captive's War book and cranking on the last Kithamar, and I'm looking at turning in the Kithamar manuscript at the end of the month.

Life is hard. It was made better by reading @abraham.bsky.social's Blade of Dream, book #2 of The Kithamar Trilogy. If you've read Age of Ash, you must read the second book!

Dragonsbane by Barbara Hambly
The Kithamar books by Daniel Abraham (anything by him really)
The Will of the Many by James Islington
