Transformer blows at Kluczynski building in Loop: CFD
<p>No one was injured when a ComEd transformer blew on the 40th floor of the Kluczynski Federal Building in the Loop Monday morning, a spokesperson with the fire department confirmed. </p><p>The situation was under control, though some elevators were not working, as of about 8:10 a.m. at the high-rise building, located at 230 S. Dearborn St., fire officials said. </p><p>There were people in the building, though none of them were injured, according to the fire department. </p><p>A ComEd spokesperson could not immediately be reached. </p><p>No further information was immediately available. </p>

Saw some Chicago religious history walking around the Loop: the first Jewish temple in Illinois (in 1847, and still in existence, now in Hyde Park) and the first works of local charity by the Sisters of Mercy (in 1846). What sits today on the temple site should look familiar to Ferris Bueller fans
