#KnittingForNiblings
🧶 The 5-year-old has finally started showing an interest in my knitting. I am knitting a wonderfully colourful pullover for them. We spent at least half an hour talking about knitting, and my tools, and they helpfully unwound yarn from the ball for me as needed. 🥰 #KnittingForNiblings #KnitSky

🧶 The work in progress that fascinated the 5 year old nibling. I’m a bit apprehensive it might turn out too small because I did not swatch and just hoped for the best with my references from earlier projects. 🤫 Don’t tell the kid. Isn’t it beautiful though? #KnitSky #KnittingForNiblings

🧶 I’ve had some problems with adding pictures to posts, but I’m glad it’s working again. I’ve been on a big #KnittingForNiblings kick, and have finished a top, two jackets, and this pullover in the last month, and still so many plans. #Knitsky

The 5 year old this morning: Was? Knittest du nur mit eine yarn colour? Wo ist deine colourful yarn?
I speak English with them, they speak a mixture of German and English with me. I had to switch to my second project because I forgot to bring the needles I needed. #KnitSky #KnittingForNiblings

🧶 #ShowMeYourKnits I haven’t been using blue a lot, but I‘m pretty sure I haven’t shared this whale with you yet. It’s beloved by the nibling. Been seeing a lot of intarsia in the round explanations lately. This is the pattern that I figured that out for, for myself. #KnittingForNiblings #KnitSky

🧶 #KnittingForNiblings this autumn started with this jacket for the 1 year old in squishy brioche. The parents have had to switch out the rainbow snaps because they didn’t hold well. Good thing I had knit button holes, so it was no problem. #KnitSky

#ShowMeYourKnits Here is the only project I haven’t shown from my three month #KnittingForNiblings fixation. I hope future nibling will enjoy holding, chewing, and waving this around. It was so much fun to knit because it looked like Patrick Star for the longest time 😂 #KnitSky

🧶I’m not big on spooky knitting, so this is the closest project I’ve made. I thought this hank would be variegated, instead it turned out to be colour blocked in these beautiful spooky season colours. Meanwhile #KnittingForNiblings and #Socktober continue bts. #ShowMeYourKnits #KnitSky

🧶 Back to #KnittingForNiblings. This is the first pair of trousers I made with the Siri pattern by Sanne Bjerregaard. It‘s supposedly sized for 6-9 months old, but seems quite large, even though I got gauge. 🤷 Anyway, it is going to a future nibling, arriving in a few months. #KnitSky

🧶 #KnittingForNiblings The second dinosaur pullover is blocked, and I love the way it turned out. I think 3 year old nibling will appreciate it, and I‘m looking forward to giving it to them in a few weeks. The pattern is by @aimeeshermakes.bsky.social #ShowMeYourKnits #KnitSky

Thoroughly overwhelmed by pre holiday socialising expectations. Sometimes it‘s difficult to accept that I don’t have the resources to keep up with other people.
Another triceratops cowl with the rest of the colour-shifting yarn from the dinosaur sweater is also finished #KnitSky #KnittingForNiblings

#KnittingForNiblings I wanted to make something for my nibling with the rest of the colour-shifting yarn I used in their pullover. It was just enough to finish this child sized cowl. The design is by Jamie Lomax of @pacificknitco.bsky.social #KnitSky

🧶 Dinosaur pullover no. 2 is well under way. Both siblings love pink, but don‘t get to wear it often. So I found colourways that incorporate it. I hope I‘m there when they really examine these sweaters and compare what designs they have on them. #KnittingForNiblings #ShowMeYourKnits #KnitSky

🧶I forgot what I was posting about here 🙈 It‘s been a bad pain week though, so it‘s not surprising. This is the second #KnittingForNiblings project I finished in the last two months. The cousins can match, but not match, now. This 2-colour version is sized for 3-4 year olds. #KnitSky

🧶 #KnittingForNiblings continues with a baby blanket. Maybe I should have just knit it the other way around because these rows are loooong. Who decided to do this in fingering weight? A bit of intarsia practice for myself. And sadly defunct The Odd Dodo hand dyed yarn for #ShowMeYourKnits. #KnitSky

🧶Stripes for #ShowMeYourKnits and matching outfits with two niblings #KnittingForNiblings. These are from about 2.5 years ago, so only my vest still fits the original person it was intended for. Luckily the niblings still love spending time with me as much as I do with them. #KnitSky

#ShowMeYourKnits My currently last #KnittingForNiblings project is a nice combination of lights and brights. Since finishing it I have not had the motivation to wash it yet. I should get around to that soon, if I want to hand it over for new years. More info in alt text. #KnitSky

🧶 #KnittingForNiblings continues for future nibling that will be joining us soon. Lolo thought he‘d buy me yarn, in light blue and pale pink for some reason. I‘m using it to make nibling welcome things. This is the third project. I‘ll get around to showing the others soon. #ShowMeYourKnits #KnitSky

🧶 It‘s too hot for creative posting. But #ShowMeYourKnits is prompting „yellow“. These are the last two projects I‘ve worked in yellow or with some yellow yarn. I‘m extra proud of the chart placement on that jumper. My 1yo nibling looked super cute in it too.

#KnittingForNiblings Update: dinosaur pullovers and cowls were well received. 3yo pulled on their cowl right away. 5yo inspected all the „pictures“. Love these kids so much 🥰 The day with them was so much fun, but also exhausting. I‘m savouring playing with them, but I also need so much rest after 😅

The weather heard my plea, everyone! ☀️ I‘m very thankful for the light today. Long row #KnittingForNiblings is chugging along with a goal set for each day, because garter stitch is a little too mindless to scratch my brain‘s itch right now. I‘m past the halfway mark! 💪 #KnitSky

#KnittingForNiblings I haven’t shown you these finished pants that will be going to expecting parents. I made the smallest size because I had already made something with the pale pink yarn, so there wasn’t enough to make the same size. FYI they are going to different families. Info in Alt #KnitSky
