Incredible stuff. Even if you've bounced off of A Sharp's previous games, this is worth checking out. And, if you loved KoDP/Six Ages, then get to this immediately.
It's DAY 2 of Nintendo news and we launched a beautifully thrilling narrative game in the middle of it!
Thank you to everyone who has already played. Please leave us a Steam review so we can reach the narrative sickos! store.steampowered.com/app/3794210/...

someone absolutely needs to make a glorantha/kodp movie, yes
There is literally no reason why any rendition of Homer needs to be historically accurate.
Who wants to see guys fighting in this?

If I worked in games journalism I'd never stop writing about king of Dragon pass. Every week another 5k words on kodp. No outlet would ever buy these essays, I would continue to write them anyway.

@harvey1966.bsky.social
I reckon you've played King of Dragon Pass?
It's designers, @radiofreelunch.bsky.social and @robindlaws.bsky.social, have just put out a new tactical narrative game, and I think it's a step forward in procedural narrative, in the same way KoDP was in the late 90s.

Ostraaaas, la partida de KoDP en Nación Rolera 🤣. Realmente divertida. Recuerdo la frase de «¡es un juego genial!»... cuando solo nos pasaban desgracias 😂. Pero sí que es genial, la verdad.

The duck people in KoDP are probably my favorite fantasy race of all time.

Oh also duh, obvious answer: King of Dragon Pass and its follow-ups, the Six Ages games. I played KoDP way on PC way back in the day and it was my introduction to Glorantha, so seeing them make a comeback years later has been a lot of fun

I guess it does. I always subconsciously equate video games with arcade shoot-em-ups. KoDP is like an old fashioned text adventure.

Awesome! Hope you enjoy! 🙌 (Like KoDP, they can be VERY unforgiving and totally fuck you over with bad events, lol)

The closest thing we got is, ironically, KoDP and Six Ages, but that's made by a handful of people and the drastic changes have to be rather limited in possibilities

Text adventures are linear though - KoDP is much more of a strategy game with lots of random events thrown in and a strong role playing element.

It's such a fascinating world and it's absurd that the only games based on it are KODP (not aligned with current edition) and Six Ages (set before time itself and slightly misaligned with the current edition). There's a very rich vein to be tapped, but no one seems interested in it.

it would be so killer if Chaosium would reprint the board games or at least license them out. KoDP is definitely what really got me hooked and its still hard for me to picture the Orlanthi without those strong iron age anglo-saxon influences
