In my teens I worked a few nights at week in the small basement bowling alley of a Knights of Columbus. It was an ancient contraption and needed me to sit perched behind the pins and reset them manually after each bowler’s turn. The KofC guys got real drunk and yelled at me a lot, but tipped well.
Happy labor day (USA). What's one of the oddest paid job you've had? Mine was probably as a reader for a medical professor at Rutgers, whose eyes were failing. I read him many academic texts, as well as Samuel Butler's "The Way of All Flesh."

Ugghhh I won a scholarship from the KofC and the head of our parish chapter got up in mass and made a speech congratulating... himself. And the parish chapter. Guess who didn't get a mention after the first sentence?

My spouse is a Knight, in large part because Habitat for Humanity where we live only works with groups to do builds.
I'm not thrilled about most of it, but his KofC have framed the vast majority of the Habitat houses in the county for the last decade.

There's a KofC hall across the street from a Shriner hall in my due, and if you believe what each group claims, there should be bloodshed in that street.

I'm curious if @KofC thinks parking on the sidewalk aligns with their mission.
