Souvenir pennant in Japan, my collection.
"金刀比羅宮" Kotohira-gu Shrine, kagawa Prefecture.
Kotohira-gu is one of the most popular shrines in Japan. The Hongu （main shrine）depicted on this pennant is located halfway up the mountain.
Length 70cm （27.5in). Circa 1970s or 1980s. #vintage

1, Pennant of Kotohira-gu Shrine. It has a photograph printed on paper and decorated with yellow fringe.

2, The photo is of the Hongu （main shrine）.

3, Enlargement of the photo. It is a diagonal view of the front of the main shrine. It is a panoramic view of the solemn shrine pavilions. The caption is "Kotohira Shrine" (dark pink).

4, The title is in Japanese. The title is "Kotohira-gu" (yellow) in bold kanji. There is a commemorative date column (hexagonal, yellow) at the right end of the flag.

"金刀比羅宮" Kotohira-gu Shrine, kagawa Prefecture.
Kotohira-gu Shrine in Kotohira Town is a very old shrine that is said to have been founded in the 8th century.
Length 58.5cm (23.0in). This pennant was produced in the 1970s. #vintage

1, Pennant of Kotohira-gu Shrine. It is a white cloth printed with an illustration and decorated with golden corrugated ornaments.

2, The illustration is an image of the Hongu （main shrine） and the Kompira-bune ship. It is decorated in gold on black monochrome.
The flag is packaged in an original clear vinyl bag with a paper tag. The title of the tag is "As a souvenir of your sightseeing, in your room, a pennant!" (red, navy blue).

3, Enlarged illustration. The Hongu （main shrine pavilion） has a unique shape with a gable in the irimoya-zukuri style. The Kompira-bune is a Japanese-style sailing ship. Each illustration is partially decorated with gold powder to create a luxurious image.

4, The title is in Japanese. The kanji characters are "Kotohira-gu" (gold, gold dust). The subtitle is "Shikoku" (black).

Length 67cm （26.3in). This pennant was produced in the 1970s or 1980s.

1, Pennant of Kotohira-gu Shrine. It has an illustration printed on red cloth with a yellow synthetic resin ornament in the round frame of the central illustration and a blue decoration on the left edge of the flag.

2, The illustrations are the main shrine of Kotohira-gu Shrine and Mori no Ishimatsu（chivalrous man, 19th century）. The left edge of the flag has a Kompira-bune ship above and the caption "Commemorative visit" below in white.

3, Enlarged illustration. The main shrine is depicted within a round frame decorated with synthetic resin yellow braid. The caption is "KOTOHIRA" (black) in Roman characters. It depicts a back view of Mori no Ishimatsu wearing a braided hat and an tabi-gappa (a traveling coat). Ishimatsu is surrounded by the words of a folk song, "Konpira Funefune".

4, The title is in Japanese, with "Kintohira-gu" (white) in kanji.
