At my granddad's village up in the mountains, where there's free public WiFi (childhood me would never believe this) and a little fair, complete with beer, kleftiko (super slow cooked lamb) and koupepia (stuffed vine leaves).

These are koupepia, the Greek Cypriot version of dolma. They have meat, rice and other aromatics in there, and are by far much better than the ones with just rice!

Koupepia! (Not dolmades) ours have meat inside well beyond minced meat for me.
Your best bet for decent souvlakia is North London, though you'd have to accept the slightly more refined Cypriot cuisine, where you can find grilled halloumi, stuffed vine leaves that include actual mince (called koupepia, never dolmades), and the queen of dips, dashi (known by some as tahini)

Turkish or Greek? Greek contains Pork mince with Rice and obviously Turkish doesn’t because of religion… Dolmades either way are delicious … if you wanna go full on Cyprus its called Koupepia … that will impress the waitress 😉

You’ll see them called Dolmades on tourist menus but in Cypriot Greek they’re actually called Koupepia (little cigars). The stuffed vegetables are known as Yemista.

You know what I found out after trying to make dolma (dolmades, dolmeh, koupepia, tolma, yarpaq, dolması, yebra) at home once and asked a guy at Greek diner why I couldn't get it right and he said "nobody has time for that; we just get them canned." 🤬😂 and told me the brand they use.
