a canon-compliant witcher game series would have had Kovir as its main villain, not Nilfgaard
Post-book series Nilfgaard is a beaten monster which has literally /lost/ three army groups (given the WW2 parallels I think it's safe to assume that means literally millions of soldiers) in an attempt to invade the North and deliberately disposed of its entire power structure, everyone but Emhyr.
