2 elegant European executive cars.

The 1951 Rover P4 Cyclops was regularly used until the 1960s when it became stuck in a snowdrift and was abandoned. It was restored at the end of the 1960s.

The 1972 Volvo was only used until 1977 when the owner died. It has covered only 30,000 km.

5/x In 1997, engineers at Kvaerner Masa-Yards in Helsinki asked the obvious question. The breaking edge does not have to be the bow. Turn the hull so it moves through the ice at an angle, and the long, sloped side becomes the breaking edge. Now length sets the channel.

The once mighty Neptune yard of Swans Hunter. Became Associated Shipbuilders and nationalised in the 1960s. Thatcher sold it in 1987, failure followed. Briefly owned by Kvaerner, success came with Jaap Krose who ran the yard until the end in 2007.

Sure, it's easy to make turquoise hydrogen & solid carbon from natgas / biogas in a lab-scale high-temperature pyrolysis reactor...

But remember, work on the Kværner process began in the 1980's, Monolith bought the IP in 2013, & mothballed their OC1 plant this summer.

Why? I’m self-centered (😎) and I just find the contract—that allows you to choose how much to own and how much to rent—interesting!
