I found that various iterations of PbtA gives me a better appreciation of other iterations, or even other systems. Learning to appreciate succeed at a cost (which took me a long time) made me appreciate games like L5R where the PCs can sort of define victory conditions with the way loss and gain

I played a lot of them in the 80s and early 00s. My mains were l5r and magi nation, both of which i still genuinely love. These days I find i don't have the time or patience to learn new games and they aim in directions that don't appeal to me anyway.

The OG Star Trek and Star Wars games were awesome from a building a narrative standpoint (L5R too but these were even weirder). At this point I really wish these were just CG’s you buy a box and you know exactly what’s in it. To get the dopamine rush they could have foils or alt art in the boosters

Not perfect with regards to coloring, but I think it conveys a sense of scale and purpose well. Albeit, doing the whole city in such a style will be a big task; I think it is doable - and I'm certainly gonna give it a shot.
