You probably can't say yet (?) but I wonder how many of the 307 are from LDI25...
April 4, 2025 at 8:27 AM
I meant I probably shouldn't have included Why Don't You in my final 50. Listening to it as part of my LDI25 research reminded of the time I was dating a girl who was a Peggy Lee uber-fan.

Jockstrap aside, think those were my first non-LDI25 fallers. Bit disappointed with Le Freak’s final position but such are the perks of the split vote.

Have loved watching the LDI25 posting - my picks were all things I knew already, but have heard lots of stuff that I’ve enjoyed. Even some jazz-adjacent tracks that I would usually avoid like audio plague.
January 25, 2025 at 12:18 PM
I went through a big Hank Williams phase at the end of the nineties, after getting into the Alabama 3 and hearing how much they owed to him. Unlike some other of my LDI25 picks, it's got nothing of the novelty about it - this is raw and beautiful.

Hound Dog did it in LDI25 - This Is Your Land actually managed 81

The only other challlenge to see 6 x 11 and 0 x 12 was the 1C000LEST finale.
December 17, 2025 at 11:17 PM
Oh no no no... only 'Strange Fruit' in LDI25 has ever managed that.

Nothing did in #1C000LEST, even with the double bonus system (Donna had 21).

#1C000LEST

On this 1,000th and FINAL DAY we'll be starting with:

"Battle For The Lead" teasers.

No reveals until lunchtime/early afternoon UK time.

I can't promise a tie (U250), but nor is it going to be a 117-point wipeout (LDI25), or even 59 (OG U50) or 43 (FOM).

2 points (LDI)?

Let's see.
June 26, 2025 at 7:47 AM
I've got a few matches with one of those lists though.

It's numbers I'm more interested in - every chance (especially after Tom's cross-promo) of getting a surprise like LDI25.

#1C000LEST

Tomorrow we have the 40-plus-bonus(es) songs.

32 of those, including five players' top songs and three more JOKERS...

(also: only three songs from LDI25)

***HITLIST RE-OPENED***

It's about time we took the...

I only had room to focus on two, but we've collectively ignored lots of other very good songs here!

(many of them from C21)

UPDATE TO HITLIST

I somehow missed Jo Stafford's 'You Belong To Me' from the unranked singleton 10s, so we're now at #870 not #871.

This song was ranked #100 in LDI25 and slots in at #885 in the final countdown.

*three hours later*

DAY 965 - OPEN FOR BUSINESS

What does The Next Day bring...?

- Unranked Singleton 10s.
- There are 64 of them, taking us from 934 - 871.

Includes a most notable debut appearance (two, in fact).

***FINAL CALL FOR LISTS***

As usual I'll extend to American Samoa time tomorrow, but no further.

I am at work and won't finalise anything until the evening; may also be waiting for a habitually late poster who was also last to finish LDI25.

Speak now or forever, etc...
May 20, 2025 at 9:40 PM
This is the bit I don't get., because for every challenge (bar LDI25) I was at pains to say you could base a selection on any mix/version of a song also released as a single.

This challenge is designed for album tracks and B-sides - I've made other concessions but I'm not going that far.
May 17, 2025 at 10:28 PM
No, and I understand that completely. I didn't pick anything from LDI25 (even my 12) because I'd be lying to myself.

I'm still really surprised by the juxtapositions though. Even ignoring LDI25, the same applies to LDI/U250 bottom-end versus FOM top-end.
May 9, 2025 at 9:21 AM
But it's a lot of the same people playing, and LDI25 had about double the participation I expected.

As I say, you can't legislate for the same people preferring a 50-point bottom-tenner from LDI to a 300-point top-tenner from LDI25.
May 9, 2025 at 9:13 AM
Given that we’ve been sat on just two LDI25 songs passing 100 points for about three weeks now, you have some indication that he’s not alone.

I didn’t have the highest expectations for LDI25, but as it was fresh in the mind and people were so enthusiastic, I thought it’d do better than this.

#1C000LEST

You can clearly see the dominance of the middle two challenges here. The April Top 20 has:

10 from #UncoolTwo50
8 from #Let5D0It
1 each from #LetsDoIt25 and #FearofMu21C

Of the 12 medallists, only half are in the top 20 at present.

All 3 U250
2/3 for LDI
1/3 for LDI25
0 😞for FOM
Six months after the U250 pub guessing game with @meikle.bsky.social , here's the official

#1C000LEST APRIL TOP 20

for you all to speculate about!

Similar to before, but the number of words in title is just "odd/even" instead of giving it away.

PS: Things tend to change a LOT in Month 2.
May 1, 2025 at 8:58 AM
It is very much appreciated.

I've given myself leeway by not sticking to a rigid countdown schedule (keeps everyone on their toes as well!).

But I have a lot on in June besides this, so I don't want to end up resenting the workload (which did happen during LDI25).
April 29, 2025 at 5:39 PM
Also, I admit I'm going to be more confident/doctrinaire the more recent the song is ;)

Others can probably advise better on LDI and especially LDI25.

#1C000LEST 40,000 POINTS UPDATE

Not going to bother with a thread, but:

100+ 83 songs (2:34:33:14 by challenge, chronologically; last ten ALL LDI/U250, 5 each)
200+ 4 songs (2:2 LDI/U250)

Breakdown of zeros and overall points by challenge in screenshots below, along with lists/posts.
April 27, 2025 at 4:19 PM
Apart from the astonishing over-subscription for a 2 song per day challenge (LDI25), it is the only thing that's come close to breaking my enthusiasm :)
