Whenever I see the "uproar" about any LGBTQA+ violence, I'm usually seeing trans people wanting to go home and hang out with their cat, lesbians doing arts and then the conservative angle is flipping out, stroking guns and spouting religious rhetoric. It would be comical if it wasn't detrimental.
