When I get a moth that isn't exactly the same colour as the darker brown Brown-spot Pinions I'm accustomed to getting, it always confuses me a little. If I've identified this moth incorrectly, it will be amusing.

Inconspicuous ladybird Rhyzobius litura from Kildavin, Carlow over the weekend. Usually find this species sweeping grassland vegetation, this one was observed wandering over open ground.

Good day recording around Cahore, Co. Wexford today. Nephus redtenbacheri agg. was my 29th Irish ladybird. Rhyzobius litura was the most numerous species with 50 individuals seen, beaten from grass and rush tussocks.

A nice weevil in a sample today, Hadroplontus litura. It lives on creeping thistle, so I am not sure why I haven’t bumped into it before.

Two micro ladybirds seen yesterday in east Shropshire: a Red Marsh Ladybird (Coccidula rufa) and a Meadow Ladybird (Rhyzobius litura) - the latter posing alongside a Stenus sp. rove beetle. The two ladybirds are each about 3mm long.
