One of my favourite tropes in newer Cdramas both modern & historical is the ride-or-die girl bestie. (Older dramas I assume written by men preferred woman-to-woman hate.) Niao Niao's bestie in #LLTG is still the best but FL's bestie in #RoyalBetrothal is 🌟. She even says she would kill for her.

Going into the final few eps, I'd say #FatedHearts is probably in top 5 non-modern cdramas I've ever watched, up there with LLTG, SOKP, TTEOTM, The Double, et al. Character pacing and development is sublime, only "meh" was the village drama arc and the flashback scenes being mildly gratuitious.

Omfg the mother/daughter relationship in LLTG. In The Glory it made sense - her dad was a monster. In LLTG it was just fuckery & idiocy. Most satisfying was when the aunt told her she deserved having the kids talk back to her, then that scene at the palace gates.

All these arbitrary changes too! Though I’m glad they just made it one unit again. Makes so much more sense. Like basically everyone refers to LLTG as just one. (lol though there are 2 MDL pages I think.) Probably the mess of Flourished pushed people to try to kill that stupid rule.

It's immensely rewatchable, isn't it? That #Healer, #TheLongBallad & #LLTG are my three main rewatches.

AYtO is a much lighter drama than LLtG - it’s more comic from the getgo - so even though there is some angst later on you know it won’t last 🙂

For LLTG I believe the post production itself was rushed; another drama was supposed to air but couldn’t so they hurried to finish & stuff LLTG in. So people say. Still a really great series though.

I agree - I liked him in that drama, & he had a good rapport with Zhou Yutong. I also liked him in #TheLongBallad, he was a better fit to the role than he was in LLTG

Gotcha. I went back to LLTG but am not sure I can tolerate all the misunderstandings - might switch to low stress TBOY.
