Currently, all Qatari natural gas exports are done via LNG, which as well known is energy intense and therefore not as efficient and lucrative as pipeline gas. LNG is good when it comes to competition, but when it comes to size and constant supply, pipeline gas is the king. (6/22)

it is always worth mentioning again that the reason private companies refused to pay for a new LNG pipeline is that the global demand for LNG has probably already peaked. Chinese LNG use has *definitely* peaked. the pipeline is very likely just throwing good money after bad.
Carney makes it clear nothing has changed and taxpayers are still on the hook for the vast majority of the tens of billions of dollars it’ll cost to build this pipeline.

Zum anderen scheint es mir wenig sinnvoll, die LNG-Importe isoliert zu betrachten. Denn die Importe per Pipeline sind im gleichen Zeitraum stark gesunken, weil durch die Ukraine-Pipeline seit Jahreanfang kein russiaches Gas mehr in die EU weitergeleitet wird. (3/5)
