Good to see LOSV back receiving some attention - with a few comments from myself amongst others.

‘Dead in the water’: Navy’s flagship ‘drone ship’ program in doubt
The government insists it still plans to acquire six large optionally crewed surface vessels, but developments in the US have called that into question.

They have... an interesting grab bag of antagonists. That's for sure.
Hot take, I like Glorith more than the Time Trapper, and Mekt is probably the best LoSV baddie.
The Legion does have the Fatal Five, who are genuinely believable as a threat.
Lowkey greatest bad guy was Lemnos IMO

De har tydeligvis ikke strenge nok straffer for den slags. Hva er det med disse «lov og orden»-partiene?

Slightly depressing that by far the least plausible aspect of this “backcasting” scenario is the notion that 🇦🇺 would have an LOSV operational to be sunk in the SCS!

How Beijing might rule the South China Sea within a decade
William Matthews and Ben Bland create a speculative ‘backcasting’ scenario: ‘It’s the year 2035 and China dominates the region’. They describe how that might come to pass – and how to avoid it.

Unnskyld, men når ble det vanlig å sende sms til velgerne på valgdagen? Har i dag fått melding fra KrF og FrP helt uoppfordret. Synes strengt tatt ikke det er greit.

showed stellar LOSV and velocity dispersion differences compared to the WICKED-cleaned spectrum, of ~17x and ~36x larger than the estimated uncertainties, respectively. Wiggles in NIRSpec IFU data can introduce severe biases in spectral shape, line [7/8 of https://arxiv.org/abs/2503.09697v1]

absorption lines within 5% of the true value-~3x better than uncorrected spectra and ~2x better than other methods. WICKED significantly improves kinematic measurements, recovering the line-of-sight velocity (LOSV) within 1% of the true value -- more [5/8 of https://arxiv.org/abs/2503.09697v1]

also, not blaming Mora or Williamson or anyone for this, but if I flip a page and see a picture of the LoSV, I should be able to know who they are immediately. I had to sit and examine that page for a while before I was sure

By contrast there is little money for LOSV, and there is a sense of the timelines on these being pushed back 4/
