i think this may shift when the next election happens as the promise to hold another referendum is put on the table as voters do not want one

And promising to end immigration which the biggest population center in Quebec is totally against, while the business and farming sector is entirely reliant on the current immigration policies.

The PCQ coverage is basically entirely opposite to that. With favourable coverage from the onset, with media ‘analysis’ constantly being ‘well maybe they do have a point’, ‘maybe the LPQ/CAQ/PQ should listen to the people who vote for them’, etc.

tbh i think if America reaches the Cool Zone moment by 2026ish, the idea that PQ is going to focus on *a mandate for another referendum* is really, really unlikely to me, unless the LPQ/CPQ just don't manage to show up

the federalist vote is QLP/LPQ but it looks like CAQ is going to be the main winner of the anti-referendum push

I think with LPQ the comparisons to Scotland break down, because language is a political cleavage in Quebec in the way it just isn't in Scotland and this is also intensely racialised.

Maybe think of LPQ as like Plaid Cymru if they only really won votes in Cardiff and from ethnic minorities and if every other party had Reform UK's policy on the Welsh language?
